Carney assures P.E.I. premier that bridge and ferry fees will be reduced

The prime minister is promising to reduce tolls on the P.E.I. bridge and ferry.

That’s according to premier Rob Lantz.

“The Prime Minister assured me they are working to make this happen as soon as possible,” Lantz wrote in a social media post.

He met with Mark Carney during the premiers meeting in Ontario earlier this week.

Earlier this week Lantz said he wanted to cut the bridge toll fee from $50 down to $20, and he wants the Wood Islands Ferry price cut in half.

Lants says the Prime Minister assured him they are working on reducing the fees as soon as possible.
