Two women dead after Highway 15 crash

Two people are dead after a crash in Shediac.

It’s believed a vehicle left Highway 15 on Thursday afternoon, hit the median and rolled in the air before landing on its roof.

RCMP say two passengers, a 71-year-old woman and a 73-year-old woman from Stratford, Prince Edward Island, died at the scene.

The driver was taken to the hospital with what are believed to be serious, life-threatening injuries.

Shediac and Sackville RCMP, Ambulance New Brunswick, the Shediac Fire Department, and an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist also responded to the scene.

Highway 15 was closed to traffic for several hours, but reopened Thursday evening.
