Two arrested in drug investigation in Elsipogtog First Nation

Police arrested two people in Elsipogtog First Nation following a drug-trafficking investigation that began earlier this month.

Officers executed a search warrant last Thursday at a home and vehicle on Big Cove Road.

Mounties seized what they believe to be cocaine, crack cocaine, hydromorphone, several cell phones, and various drug-trafficking materials.

A 49-year-old man from Shediac was arrested and remains in custody on unrelated charges.

A 39-year-old woman from Elsipogtog First Nation was also arrested but has since been released.

The investigation began on April 9 and is ongoing as authorities work to address drug activity in the community.
