Fire destroys Caissie Cape home, two adults injured

Few details are currently being released about a fire that destroyed a Caissie Cape home.

Beausoleil Mayor Romeo Bourque says a 911 call came in just before 3 am Friday, “We had all of the departments there, the RCMP arrived, along with Ambulance New Brunswick and NB Power. It was an explosion, apparently. Not sure of the details. Two people were sent to hospital, but their condition is unknown.”

Bourque couldn’t say exactly where the home is located but he did tell us that it is near the Sea Coast Fish Plant.

Some area residents posted to social media stating it felt like their house shook.

Bourque says it is currently under investigation by the Fire Marshall’s office, but he couldn’t say whether or not the fire is suspicious.

Firefighters from Beausoleil, Champdore and Shediac Fire Departments helped to battle the blaze.

Our newsroom reached out to the Beausoleil Fire Department for more details and we were referred to Bourque for comment.
