2 arrested in southeastern N.B. armed robberies

Mounties have arrested two people as they investigate a series of armed robberies in southeastern New Brunswick.

Insp. Jonathan White said the incidents happened in various locations, including Memramcook and Sackville, between Jan. 1 and 9.

White said the primary suspect was identified by investigators and located just outside of Moncton and Salisbury on Jan. 10.

“Based on the threat that they posed, the assistance of the New Brunswick RCMP’s Emergency Response Team was requested,” he said during Riverview council’s committee of the whole meeting on Monday night.

A 45-year-old man from Haute-Aboujagane and a 41-year-old woman from Moncton were arrested later that evening on Mountain Road near Glen Eagles Drive.

No injuries were reported and there is no word at this point on possible charges.
