Share your thoughts on future festivals and events for Dieppe

What types of festivals and events would you like to see in the City of Dieppe?

An online survey has been launched.

“We’re asking to understand where the population is and who we’re addressing in this survey, but we’re also looking at what motivates people to attend festivals and events. How do people participate in festivals and events in our area, and as well, what type of events are of interest to the local people that would bring them to participate in a festival,” Director of Community Development Denis Leblanc says.

The City is looking at creating a new festival or event that would represent the community and celebrate its unique identity.

Currently, this survey seeks input from Dieppe residents only, but Leblanc says they may conduct a second part and expand the scope.

Several festivals, including Fusion, Canada Day, the Wednesday Show, and YQM CountryFest, are already planned for 2025.

“We have certain ideas, but we want to see what this survey brings out,” Leblanc adds.

Past festivals and events have had huge economic impacts on the City of Dieppe.

“YQM CountryFest brings about $14 million in economic impact, and that’s obviously one of the larger ones. But smaller scale events do still bring some economic impact to our community. They fill our restaurants and our hotels, and I think they also show our diversity. For example, Acadian Day or Canada Day, helps us show our diversity to tourism. Those are some of the advantages of such events,” Leblanc says.

The survey is available until February 7.
