New Ward 1 Riverview councillor takes official oath

The newest Riverview town councillor has officially been sworn in.

Richard Blackstock was acclaimed in a recent byelection for Ward 1. He took an oath before the town council this week.

Mayor Andrew LeBlanc says he has been very involved in the community.

“I think he is going to bring a lot to the table in terms of advocating for residents in Ward 1 and the entire town,” he says.

Sarah Murphy was the previous town councillor. She stepped down in October to spend more time with her family.
