RCMP seek vehicle of interest in Chipman double homicide

RCMP are now seeking a vehicle of interest in connection with a double homicide in Chipman.

Police received a report of a vehicle on fire with two people inside off Midland Road around 8 a.m. on Nov. 25.

Cpl. Hans Ouellette, a spokesperson for the New Brunswick RCMP, said officers located two bodies inside the burned-out white Chevrolet Equinox SUV.

Ouellette said their investigation led police to believe the two deaths were the result of homicides, but he declined to provide details.

On Tuesday, police released a photo of a vehicle of interest, which they believe is a red Toyota Corolla.

The vehicle was seen in the Chipman area in the late evening hours of Nov. 24 and the early morning hours of Nov. 25.
