Increased Codiac RCMP budget supported by Tri-Community Councils

An over $59 million Codiac RCMP budget for 2025 has received full approval by Moncton, Riverview and Dieppe Councils.

The final vote of support was from Riverview Town Council on Monday night.

The Codiac Regional Policing Authority says the budget grew by over $9 million in 2025, that’s a 19 per cent increase over 2024.

Some of the key investments include the addition of 17 new RCMP officers and 5 municipal employees to enhance community policing, crime reduction initiatives, and support for frontline services.

It will also provide upgrades to technology, vehicles, and infrastructure to improve police operations and efficiency.

The budget will also mean more community and social support including increased funding for initiatives tackling social issues, such as mental health and community partnerships.

“This funding allows Codiac Regional RCMP to proactively meet the challenges of a growing population and the rising complexity of community needs while planning for long-term improvements in public safety,” says Donald Moore, Chair of the CRPA.
