Class-action lawsuit against QMJHL moving ahead

The Quebec Superior Court has authorized a class action against the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).

Officials say the lawsuit aims to compensate all players who were victims of abuse while playing in the junior hockey league.

It includes players who were abused by another player, a coach or any other person involved in the league.

The class action seeks $15 million in punitive and exemplary damages, as well as monetary compensation for the harm suffered by the victims.
