Some New Brunswickers will be casting ballots as part of their upcoming weekend plans.

Advance voting is taking place on Saturday for municipal byelections in 10 communities.

  • Beausoleil: mayor – 5 candidates
  • Belledune: one councillor-at-large – 3 candidates
  • Champdoré: one councillor (Ward 3) – 3 candidates
  • Doaktown: one councillor-at-large – 3 candidates
  • Fundy-St. Martins: one councillor (Ward 1) – 3 candidates

Voters usually receive information cards in the mail letting them know where their voting location is.

However, Elections New Brunswick will not be able to send them out due to the Canada Post strike.

Chief Electoral Officer Kim Poffenroth is encouraging residents to look up their voting information on their website.

You can also call their toll-free call centre at 1-888-858-VOTE (8683) to find out the information.

Polls will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, and again on election day, which is Dec. 9.

The full list of candidates for each community can be found on Elections New Brunswick’s website.
