Tax rate reductions in Riverview 2025 budget

Riverview residents will see their tax rates dip by five cents for 2025.

Town Council deliberated this week on a $41-million operating budget.

The tax rate will be reduced to $1.38, the fourth reduction in as many years. Water rates will rise $8 a year to $920.

Capital projects planned include work on Garland Drive, Pinegrove Drive, Vernon Avenue and Whitepine Roads, as well as the new Riverview Recreation Complex.

Two new firefighters will also be added, and the RCMP budget is increasing by $1.3 million, which includes 17 new police officers.

Council is expected to ratify the 2025 budget on December 9.
