Anglophone East School district hosting mental health summit

A summit will be held this week to raise awareness of mental health.

It’s an annual event hosted by the Anglophone East School District.

It is planned for November 13 at Wabanaki School.

Fifteen student leaders from the District’s eight high schools will explore this year’s theme which is ‘Connection’.

The summit aims to empower students with insights and skills to foster mental wellness initiatives
within their school communities.

The event will feature keynote speaker Em McFadyen, who will address students with their message, ‘Healing as a Continuous Journey’.

Throughout the day, students will engage in three workshops led by mental health advocates. Ashley MacDonald and Jessica Richard’s session, Navigating our Digital World, will
focus on maintaining mental wellness in the digital age. Lynn Hickman’s workshop, Lead from Your
Strengths will help students leverage their unique abilities to champion mental health initiatives.
Britt Florjancic will lead Journey Mapping, encouraging students to reflect on personal goals and
experiences in the context of wellness.
