Murder trial for Dieppe couple scheduled to begin Tuesday

Opening statements are expected to be heard on Tuesday in a Moncton courtroom as a murder trial gets underway.

Twenty-nine-year-old Janson Bryan Baker is facing two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Bernard and Rose Marie Saulnier.

The couple were killed in 2019 in their Dieppe home.

A jury was selected over the weekend.

Baker has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The trial is expected to take up to 3 months.
