Moncton man charged after RCMP recover stolen tools

A Moncton man is facing charges after RCMP tracked down stolen tools and equipment linked to two reported break‑ins.

Police responded to a report on November 28 from a business on Hump Yard Road, where high‑value tools and equipment were stolen.

A second report from the same location was made on December 9, and the RCMP said that prompted officers to begin investigating the possession of stolen property in the Greater Moncton area.

The investigation led officers to a property on Savoie Drive on December 10.

Members of the Crime Reduction Unit executed a search warrant at the site the next day with support from Police Dog Services.

Officers seized high‑value tools and equipment and arrested a 42‑year‑old man at the scene without incident.

The man appeared in court on December 12 and was charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to return to court on January 30.

Police said the public plays an important role in preventing and solving property crime.

Anyone with information or concerns about suspicious activity is asked to contact their local police or provide information anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
