RCMP seek witnesses after assault in Moncton

The RCMP is asking for the public’s help following an assault that left two men injured in Moncton.

Police say officers responded to a report of an assault outside a residence on Lancaster Road around 1:55 a.m. on June 20.

When they arrived, they found an unconscious man who was taken to the hospital.

Investigators later learned a second man had also been assaulted but had left the scene.

Mounties said both men, who are in their early 30s, suffered what were believed to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

“No one has come forward yet; however, we know there were a number of individuals present at the time of the assault,” said Cpl. Jesse Lymburner of the Codiac Regional RCMP in a news release.

“Someone knows what happened. We know a length of time has passed since the incident, but we’re determined to pursue all tips and lay charges in connection with this serious assault.”

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has photos or video footage, to contact the RCMP at 506-857-2400.

Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477, using the P3 Mobile App, or through Secure Web Tips.
