High winds and heavy rain for Halloween

No treats when it comes to the weather for Halloween.

Rain and high winds are forecast.

Special weather statements remain in effect for areas including Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick.

Environment Canada says between 25 and 40 millimetres of rain is expected to fall, with an anticipated start tomorrow morning. Winds are expected to gust up to 70 km/h.

Rain will taper, but conditions will persist into the evening.

Rainfall warnings have been in other parts of the province, including Saint John and County, Fundy, Grand Manan and Coastal Charlotte County, St. Stephen and Northern Charlotte County, and Sussex, Kennebecasis Valley and Kings County.

Speaking of rainy conditions, the rain has some communities considering rescheduling Halloween.

Regions including Moncton, Dieppe and Riverview have confirmed Halloween will be held as per usual on Friday night, even if Mother Nature has other plans.
