Home invasion leads to robbery charge for Riverview man

A Riverview man has been charged in connection with a home invasion earlier this month.

RCMP responded to a call of a home invasion in Bass River on Oct. 17.

According to police, two individuals entered the home armed with a firearm and forcibly confined the resident for a period of time.

They eventually fled with the victim’s pickup truck and ATV. The victim sustained what were believed to be minor injuries that were treated at the scene.

The pickup truck was later recovered.

During their investigation, police identified a person of interest. On Oct. 22, a 47-year-old was arrested at a residence in Moncton.

The man appeared in court the same day and was charged with robbery with a firearm.

He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to reappear in court on Nov. 12.
