YQM pandemic recovery going well

Pandemic recovery is positive for the Greater Moncton Roméo Leblanc International Airport.

Spokesperson Sheila Lagacé says YQM’s year-over-year passenger numbers were up 28 per cent in 2023.

“YQM welcomed 600,121 passengers, representing 89 per cent of our 2019 passenger count,” Lagace says.

She says they are almost 98 per cent recovered from pre-pandemic levels.

Sunwing and Air Transat started their full-season flights last week.

“We’re actually anticipating that on Friday and Saturday mornings, with all the flights that are leaving in the early morning, there’s going to be around 600 passengers going through the airport. A pretty steady flow of passengers every day, for the next few months. This season continues until about mid-May,” Lagace says.
