Big year for building permits in Town of Shediac

Shediac surpassed the $100 million mark for building permits for the first time.

After three consecutive record-breaking years since 2020, the community reached $105 million in permits in 2023, which shatters all records in recent years.

The Town of Shediac issued 227 permits over the past year. In the residential sector, more than 175 permits were granted for a value of $16,275,500.10. Over $40 million worth of multi-family residential permits were recorded in the past year, and on the commercial side, the municipality issued 29 building permits totalling $48,471,048.04.

“Our municipality is experiencing significant growth, and we must continue on this path while placing our priority on the aspects that make Shediac one of the best places to live, work, and do business,” said Shediac Mayor Roger Caissie.
