Sun destination flights now offered out of YQM

The Greater Moncton International Airport celebrated this month its return to sun destinations with Air Transat.

The first flight of the season was December 21st to Cancun, followed by another to Punta Cana on December 22nd.

Spokesperson Sheila Lagacé says these are always popular during the winter season.

“We anticipate a higher volume of travellers just because our sun destination flights with Air Transat started earlier this year,” said Lagacé.

There will be weekly flights to those destinations on Thursdays and Fridays, so she expects the airport will be busier on those days.

In February, a weekly flight to Varadero will start, as well as flights to Orlando, which are now offered twice weekly.

Air Transat departures to sun destinations from YQM will be offered until May this season.
