Man dies from gunshot injuries in Saint John: police

The Saint John Police Force’s Major Crime Unit is investigating a weekend sudden death.

Officers were called to a residence on Pleasant Street West around 8:20 p.m. Saturday.

They had received a 911 call saying a man had sustained gunshot injuries at the residence.

“On arrival, police found a 51-year-old man deceased in the residence,” police said in a news release.

An autopsy and investigation will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of death, according to police.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses or anyone with video surveillance that captures Pleasant Street West.
