Moncton man facing charges after fleeing police in Saint-Phillippe

A 34-year-old Moncton man is facing several charges after a series of incidents including a stolen vehicle.

On November 21, RCMP attempted to pull over a vehicle in the Lakeville area, after a driver was suspected to be impaired by drugs.

The driver fled towards Saint Phillippe at a high rate of speed.

Several minutes later, there was a crash on Saint-Phillippe Road, and the driver fled into the woods on foot.

Three others were arrested at the scene, but they were later released.

RCMP Police Dog Services assisted and the driver was arrested a short time later at a home on Bateman Mill Road.

As a result of the crash, two people were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Charges include:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Flight from Police
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Operation while impaired by drug of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm
