Local government byelections in N.B. on Monday

Thousands of New Brunswickers will be heading to the polls on Monday.

Local government byelections are taking place in nine communities throughout the province.

There are a total of 31 candidates running to fill 12 vacant positions, according to Elections NB.

  • Beaurivage (councillor-at-large – three candidates; councillor for Ward 6 – three candidates)
  • Fredericton Junction (mayor – two candidates)
  • Grand Lake (councillor for Ward 4)
  • Hanwell (councillor-at-large – four candidates; councillor for Ward 4 – three candidates)
  • Neguac (councillor-at-large – two candidates)
  • Riverview (councillor-at-large – four candidates)
  • Southern Victoria (councillor for Ward 2 – three candidates)
  • Sunbury-York South (councillor for Ward 1 – two candidates)
  • Tracy (two councillors-at-large – three candidates)

Polls will be open from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. with the results coming in shortly after.
