Veterans’ headstones defaced at Fredericton cemetery

Fredericton police are calling it a “truly shameful act” that dishonours our veterans.

The headstones of several veterans were recently defaced at the Forest Hill Cemetery.

Police said the vandals targeted the cemetery’s Royal Canadian Legion field of honour.

It is believed the incidents took place over the past two weekends.

“This truly shameful act dishonours all who fought for the freedom that we thoroughly enjoy today,” police said in a news release.

“We implore those responsible to come forward to police.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Fredericton Police Force at 506-460-2300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
