Man arrested after suspected cannabis dispensary raided

A man has been arrested after peace officers raided a suspected cannabis dispensary in Saint John.

Justice and Public Safety officers executed a search warrant at Head Space on Main Street West on Sept. 20.

They seized dried cannabis, hashish, gummies, shatter, edibles, vape pens and cartridges, and more than $1,540 in cash.

“Cannabis NB and provincially licensed private retail stores are permitted to sell cannabis in the province,” the department said in a news release on Thursday.

“Only these approved retailers offer safe, regulated cannabis products that are approved by Health Canada and sourced from Cannabis NB.”

A 33-year-old Saint John was arrested and released. Officials said he could face charges under the Cannabis Control Act and the Cannabis Act.
