Fire destroys large Lutes Mountain home

A large home on Lutes Mountain has been destroyed by fire.

Moncton Fire Platoon Chief Mike Lake says crews arrived on Thorncastle Street at around 3 a.m.

At that time, the residence was already fully engulfed.

Flames and smoke could be spotted from kilometres away.

Dieppe Fire was also called in to assist with an extra tanker full of water.

Firefighters were still on the scene five hours later putting out hotspots.

Lake says no one was hurt.

The cause is under investigation.
