Seven Riverview playgrounds to be upgraded

Upgrades will be done to seven playgrounds in the Town of Riverview.

An investment of $469,700 through the Canada Community Revitalization Fund (CCRF) was announced on Thursday morning.

“Investing in infrastructure that improves the lives of residents is a top priority for Riverview Town Council. The support we’ve received has allowed for seven parks across Riverview to be upgraded this year, which will significantly and directly impact families and neighbours who gather in these spaces as an extension of their homes,” says Mayor Andrew Leblanc.

These enhancements will mean new equipment that will enhance accessibility and increase inclusion in the outdoor spaces available to the community. Upgrades also include new protective surfacing, and site amenities such as picnic tables, shelters, and benches.

The playgrounds receiving upgrades include:

  • Coverdale Centre Playground
  • Patricia Drive Park
  • Goldsboro Park
  • McAllister Park
  • Wentworth Park
  • Edison Park
  • Manchester Park

MP for Moncton-Riverview-Dieppe Ginette Petitpas Taylor says playgrounds play an important role, “They create opportunities to connect with friends, to connect with neighbours and families and to really be able to help us develop a sense of community.”
