Man, girl arrested after Sussex traffic stop

Two people were arrested after a traffic stop in Sussex led to the seizure of drugs, a firearm and stolen property.

In a news release on Tuesday, RCMP said officers stopped a vehicle on Elmview Avenue around 3 a.m. on Aug. 2.

“Members observed what was believed to be methamphetamine in the vehicle,” RCMP said in the release.

A 22-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl from Sussex were arrested at the scene.

In addition to seizing a quantity of meth, officers also found a firearm and stolen property in the vehicle.

The man and girl were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in court in November.
