Streets flood again due to heavy rain in Greater Moncton

Torrential downpours and thunderstorms rolled through the region on Monday night, causing more flooded streets.

An Environment Canada Meteorologist says it’s also not common to have thunderstorms in mid-October, but it does happen with all the right ingredients in a storm system.

He told us in Fundy National Park, around 50 millimetres fell in a short amount of time.

Downtown Moncton streets and other roads in the tri-communities were again underwater.

Heavy downpours caused flooding in the downtown just six days ago.

Reports on social media state some residents cleared leaves and other debris from drainage gutters to allow water to drain.
