Man assaulted in Fredericton dies from injuries

A serious assault in downtown Fredericton is now being investigated as a homicide.

The incident took place at the Tannery during the early morning hours of Sept. 22.

One man suffered serious injuries and another was treated for minor injuries.

Police said late Tuesday that one of the victims, a 41-year-old man, had since died from his injuries.

Earlier in the day, police said they were looking to identify several persons of interest in relation to the investigation, but they had been identified as of Wednesday morning.
