Man arrested for counterfeit $100 bills in Sussex area

A warning of funny money circulating in the province.

On September 12, RCMP arrested an 18-year-old Sussex man in an investigation into the use of counterfeit $100 bills.

Police received several reports from businesses in the Sussex area of bills with the same serial number: LGQ03229158.

The fake money may have specific markings including five black, double bars on both sides, and some are of poor quality. They may also be different sizes and shapes and made with different materials.

The man was released on conditions and will return to Saint John court in December.
