9 years in prison for Moncton bank robbery suspect

An Ontario man has been sentenced to nine years in prison after an armed robbery in Moncton.

RCMP said they responded to a bank on Cornhill Street on the morning of June 12, 2023.

A man believed to be carrying a firearm demanded money from the teller and fled the scene with cash.

Police were able to identify a person of interest and arrested a 73-year-old man from St. Catharines, Ont., eight days later.

Radec Daniel Larmet was sentenced Thursday on charges of armed robbery and disguise with intent.

Larmet is also subject to a lifetime firearms prohibition and some forfeiture orders, is required to submit a DNA sample, and is prohibited from contacting the victims.
