Combined funding for U de M upgrades and renovations

Federal and provincial funding for equipment and renovations at Université de Moncton campuses.

The facility will receive $2.7 million over two years, to help modernize specialized equipment at all three U de M campuses to help meet current labour market standards.

It will replace computer equipment in training laboratories that are incompatible with recent versions of professional software.

Renovation work will also be done on the Edmundston and Shippagan campuses.

“The renovations, combined with the acquisition of modern equipment for various programs across our three campuses, will create a stimulating, state-of-the-art academic environment, ensuring that our students continue to receive high-quality training,” says President and Vice-Chancellor at Université de Moncton Dr. Denis Prud’homme.

The feds are providing almost $1.4 million, and the province will match that.

“Supporting French-language education is key to securing and advancing New Brunswick’s unique position as Canada’s only officially bilingual province. We are pleased to partner with the federal government and Université de Moncton on this project that will advance education at all three of the university’s campuses, and help students better prepare to join New Brunswick’s workforce,” stated New Brunswick Minister of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour Greg Turner.

This major project will run until March 2026.
