Remembering those who fought in Dieppe 82 years ago

Canadian soldiers who died in the Dieppe Raid 82 years ago will be remembered.

Commemoration ceremonies will be held on Sunday starting with a parade at 1:30 p.m. at Place 1604.

Almost 5,000 soldiers battled in the Dieppe Raid but only 2,210 returned, and many suffered injuries.

The Dieppe Raid is one of Canadian history’s most devastating and bloody chapters.

A reception will follow on Sunday at the Dieppe Golden Age Club.

In case of rain, the event will be held at the Dieppe Golden Age Club at the same time.
