Dieppe looks to honour 8 pioneering women

Dieppe is seeking the names of pioneering women to name eight trails throughout the city.

It is part of the Women Trailblazers Bank project to showcase the city’s women through a heritage tour and a place-name bank.

The project will honour women who have distinguished themselves or worked behind the scenes and highlight those who have played a part in local heritage.

Trail names would be accompanied by interactive posters that tell the stories of these local francophone women.

Names are being accepted in eight categories: politics, sports, environment, Canadian Armed Forces, intercultural relations, creative pursuits, health, and entrepreneurship.

You have until Sept. 9 to make your submission. The selection committee will meet in mid-September and the shortlisted names will be announced in December.
