FDA surprised by donation of electric van from CAA Atlantic

An unexpected donation for the Food Depot Alimentaire.

They received an electric delivery van from CAA.

“We got a call from CAA Atlantic a few months ago who said they were interested in donating a van. They also donated the same thing to the provincial association that helps food banks in Nova Scotia, PEI and Newfoundland as well. This was a very unique contribution from a donor,” Executive Director Stephane Sirois says.

The vehicle will be used for picking up food, recovery from the grocery stores, and donations and it will also be used as a billboard for Food Depot Alimentaire.

“When we deliver cheques for our 50/50 winners, for example. It’s all-electric, so it’s really great for our carbon footprint and it’s very cost-efficient,” Sirois adds.

The donation also included an electric charger which has already been installed at Food Depot Alimentaire in Moncton.
