App to assist patients before, during and after surgery

A new digital App available through Vitalité Health Network will assist patients before, during and after surgery.

It’s called Seamless MD and it is based in Toronto.

It is a digital platform to improve surgical outcomes for patients.

SeamlessMD has been proven to reduce readmissions and emergency department visits and shorten the length of the hospital stay.

The Health network says the platform enables healthcare providers and care teams to receive alerts, monitor patients remotely via dashboards, and access data from anywhere, enhancing decision-making and patient care efficiency. It has been proven to reduce hospital readmissions by up to 89 per cent, emergency department (ED) visits by 72 per cent and hospital length of stay by one to five days depending on the specialty.

This new app will be available in June to patients at Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital
Center, the Chaleur Regional Hospital or the Edmundston Regional Hospital.

Vitalité will explore the use of SeamlessMD’s platform for patients undergoing hip, knee,
colorectal and gynecological oncology surgery.
