Fire damages inside of Dieppe restaurant

An investigation is underway to determine the cause of a fire on St. Laurent Street in Dieppe.

Platoon Chief Denis Roberge says the fire in the restaurant started at around 7 a.m. Wednesday.

Roberge says it is an older home converted into a business.

Firefighters located the fire quickly, but Roberge says, “It was a stubborn fire because it was in the walls.”

It took around two hours to extinguish and fourteen firefighters were on scene.

There is significant damage to the inside of the building.

No one was hurt.
