Codiac Transpo offering free rides for Earth Day

If you’re heading to work or school on Monday, April 22, put down the car keys.

City of Moncton Director of Environmental Planning and Management Tim Moerman says It’s Earth Day and Codiac Transpo is offering the opportunity to ride for free.

“If you’re not familiar with the transit system, maybe you’re a young person who hasn’t yet gotten into the habit of going out on your own. I know when I was a kid, learning to use the public transit system was kind of intimidating. So that’s an opportunity for younger people.”

He adds for those who have never taken the bus before, it’s an opportunity to experience it for the first time, “See if this is something you can build into your daily lives and generally reduce our transportation-related greenhouse emissions.”
