Inmate hurt in assault at Atlantic Institution

An inmate assault at the Atlantic Institution in Renous.

Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) says it happened on April 10 at the maximum security federal institution.

The inmate was evaluated by staff and then taken to an outside hospital to receive treatment.

CSC says those involved have been identified and actions have been taken.

Mounties and staff at the institution are investigating the incident.
