Gas prices to spike in N.B.

New Brunswick motorists are in for an unexpected increase in gasoline prices on Tuesday night.

An industry source says the New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board will invoke the interrupter clause.

The maximum price for regular gasoline is expected to jump by nearly eight cents per litre, according to the source.

Currently, the most we are paying for regular self-serve is $1.75 per litre.

Diesel prices will not be impacted by the price change, according to the source.
