Hundreds ticketed during traffic operation

More than 350 tickets were issued during a traffic enforcement operation in New Brunswick late last week.

RCMP and the Department of Justice and Public Safety set up along major highways in St. Stephen, St. George, Oromocto, and Minto.

A total of 352 violations were issued under the New Brunswick Motor Vehicle Act, including 226 tickets for speeding.

Two vehicles were towed and impounded for seven days for going between 50 and 79 kilometres per hour over the speed limit.

Officers also issued six tickets for vehicles not being insured and arrested three people for driving while their licence was suspended.
