Two drivers were stopped for excessive speeding in Greater Moncton last week.
Both were going more than 50 km/h over the posted speed limit which is known as stunting.
Codiac RCMP say one driver was pulled over on Mountain Road travelling 102 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.
Another driver on Champlain Street was stopped travelling 106 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.
Both drivers were issued a $605.50 fine and had their vehicles impounded for a week.
Police are reminding drivers about new dangerous driving laws in New Brunswick which took effect this month and include stiffer penalties for stunting.
Anyone caught driving 50 to 80 km/h over the speed limit will have their vehicle impounded for a week, face a fine of $605.50, and lose five demerit points on your licence.
Driving more than 80 km/h over the speed limit will lead to a 30 day vehicle impoundment, a $1,204.50 fine, and six demerit points.
