$158K for Hillsborough active transportation project

More than $158,000 in federal funding has been announced for an active transportation project in Hillsborough.

The Shoreline Trail will be extended through the community around wetland areas and along a protective dike bordering the Petitcodiac River.

Work will include landowner consultations, final design, trail construction, signage installation, and grading and surfacing on portions of the trail.

The total price tag of the work is just over $263,000, according to background information from the federal government.

The Southeast Regional Service Commission is contributing $92,000 while the village will cover nearly $13,000.
