Group says snowmobile supply stabilizing

Snowmobiling remains a popular winter activity in New Brunswick and it has continued to grow in recent years especially since the pandemic began.

But if you’re buying a new machine, it hasn’t always been as easy as it was in the pre-COVID era.

Snowmobile Montoneige NB president Dave Garland said supply chain issues have played a role for snowmobiles in the same way they have for new vehicles.

“Times have changed. We’ve come to realize that if you want a new snowmobile for next year, you should order it at the end of this year.”

But Garland said dealers tend to have at least some models in stock.

“Dealers have inventory on the floor but not too much. It’s pretty healthy right now and think it has truly stabilized.”
