Opinions needed for future Aquatics in Moncton

Time is running out to make your opinions known on future aquatics in the City of Moncton.

Community Recreation Development Officer Monica Tucker says, “We want to hear from residents and the public to see what are your needs and what are you looking for. At the moment we are keeping all of the options open. It could be indoor or outdoor facilities. Anything from programming, what we should have in the facility, location, cost, or any other logistics surrounding a pool.”

The survey takes around five to ten minutes to fill out, and asks around eight questions, “What do you use the facility for? Are you using our current facilities? If so, how often do you use these facilities? What kind of programming would you like to see in this facility? Also questions about if you are on a swim club, what do you use the pool for? We have different stakeholders, either swim clubs or organizations that would have different needs,” Tucker adds.

The survey deadline is March 1st, and it will be followed by two in-person consultations in either April or May. Once those are completed, Tucker says they’ll compile all of the results and put together a final report.

Over 1300 participants have already filled out the survey.

The survey can be found on Let’s Chat, a website run by the City of Moncton.
