Scam Alert! A Warning From The RCMP

A warning from RCMP about recent reports of a phone scam in the Moncton area and other parts of the province.

Scammers are calling with a false emergency, and they pretend they are a loved one in distress or act as a police officer who has arrested a loved one.

If you receive a call demanding money in order to release a loved one from jail, police say it is a scam.

A reminder as well, not to share personal information.

If you receive a call resembling this, RCMP says you should contact the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
