Water Main Break In Downtown Home Displaces Tenants

Six tenants have been temporarily displaced after a water main break inside a two-storey building in downtown Moncton.

The Canadian Red Cross says the Pine Street home in downtown Moncton is divided into three apartments.

There was concern over electrical safety after the break late Wednesday.

Emergency lodging and meals have been provided to a family of three from one unit, an adult couple from a second and one man from the third.

It’s expected they’ll be able to return to their homes in a day or two after repairs, cleanup and a safety inspection.
