UPDATE: Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash In Salisbury

A 43-year-old man from Lakeville Westmorland is dead after a crash on Fredericton Road in Salisbury.

Fire Chief Brad MacLeod says they received a call from Ambulance New Brunswick at around 4:55 a.m. Saturday asking for assistance.

When they arrived, they found a passenger inside a vehicle deceased. The driver and another passenger were located nearby. They were transported to the hospital with what are believed to be serious injuries.

The crash is believed to have occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway, and crashed into the woods. RCMP specialized units including Police Dog Services, Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS), and Forensic Identification Section (FIS) attended the scene. The New Brunswick Coroner’s office is also assisting with the investigation.

Route 112/Fredericton Road was closed to traffic between MacWilliam and Bleakney roads for around three hours while RCMP investigated.

There’s no word yet on the cause of the crash.

An autopsy will be done to determine the exact cause of death.
